Facebook Lead Ad Report
My lead ad is still progressing nicely, and my list of subscribers currently stands at thirty-seven. One person has unsubscribed. On the email sequence follow-up, it’s a little too early to draw any conclusions about making any changes. I have nine emails in the sequence and the average open rate is around thirty percent. It’s quite surprising that not many people have clicked the link to see the lead magnet. Only ten out of thirty-seven have done so.
FB Ads Lab Week Three Training
Week three was all about emails. The ad is the “hook” that brings the people to your list. The email follow up is the key to bring the people to your world. It builds the relationship and gives you the chance to let them get to know, like and trust you, and ultimately to present your offers.
The Auto Responder
Sending out emails to your new subscribers manually would be virtually impossible and so unwieldy. The answer: the Auto Responder. Affiliate System has a built-in auto responder that enables you to create an email sequence that is automatically invoked when a new subscriber responds to your Facebook lead ad. You can introduce a wait period between each email. So as not to overwhelm my new subscribers, I chose to send an email once a day.
First Step
When customers join the email list, they should go through a welcome email sequence of a minimum of five emails, but this can be many more. My personal preference was to send nine emails in this sequence.
The purpose of the email sequence is to: –
- Give them access to their free gift.
- Tell them what you’re about and how you can help.
- Build trust and give them the chance to get to know me.
First Email
This is a rough outline of what the first email would look like.
- Greeting
- A link to the free training gift
- An introductory brief about you
- A reference to the free training again
- A mention of the next email to come in whatever time frame you choose (1 hour, 1 day, etc) with a mention of the subject line.
- Exit farewell (e.g. Take care and speak soon)
- Your name
- S. Unsubscribe if you don’t want to receive these emails (but you can keep the free training)
In the Emails That Follow
- Introduce the topic of Affiliate Marketing
- Introduce yourself and the story of how you started
- Tell the story of your initial struggles to make money online and how Dean’s book and mentorship has changed everything
- Talk about what affiliate marketing allows you to do nowadays
Several more Emails
- Try to follow a similar pattern
- Address their desire to make money/change their lives
- Tell a short story about how you’ve done it or how others have done it
- Repeat the same things but in different ways
- Never forget that most subscribers won’t read all of your emails
- Don’t be tempted to lie and say you’re doing better than you are
- You’re already ahead of 90% of the people out there who haven’t taken any action at all
- Inject your personality in your emails; you are unique. The more this shows in your emails, the more the readers will remember you
- Don’t be shy of sharing your struggles; people relate to that in a big way
What Happens Next?
After the initial email sequence has finished, the subscribers are then added to a general list. This is done by means of adding a tag to the subscribers’ profile as the last action in the sequence. From this point we start sending broadcast emails. The aim is to send 3 to 5 broadcasts a week, or at the very least once a week
- Use story-based model to your emails
- In practice a good pattern would be
- Hook
- Story
- Transition
- Lesson
- Call To Action (CTA)
- PS.
If You’re Stuck and Uninspired
- Think of your own questions
- Remember, you can say the same thing over and over, just in different ways
- You can repeat the things you say in your blog or videos
- Sometimes it can be easier to dictate your email rather than type it.
Best Tips
- The best way to get good at emailing is to email. Just do it and do it often.
- Keep it clear and simple
- Write how you would speak
- Keep paragraphs short
- Make it very clear what people have to do (“click here to get your free gift”)
- Write as if you were addressing a friend
- Work on your subject lines; create curiosity
- Occasionally give people a reason to reply (a simple “Yes/No” question works very well
- Remind people they can unsubscribe
- Include a PS (many people scroll right to the bottom)
- Treat your list like gold from the moment they join even if they don’t buy
- Always reply to emails – even the horrid ones
- Always remember, whether someone buys or not, them being on your list is extremely valuable
Next time, I’ll cover week four; all about setting up your ad in Facebook.

Hi Andy – It is so great to see you progressing with Facebook ads and learning so much from the class. This is such a valuable tool and resource and have done correctly it can produce results. I also took the Facebook lead ad class and found that it helped grow my list immensely. Hey, I love your best tips section! You break it down so simple for someone like me who needs a simplistic way to communicate. Excellent blog post!
Hi Andy! You’re making progress! Congratulations for your first 37 subscribers! This means you have an ad running and an email sequence in place so you put already some hard work at it.
Thank you for all these tips here in this post, like you said, you’re ahead of 90% of people out there that didn’t take action yet.

I like that you ventured into Facebook Lead Ads. Getting 37 leads is commendable. It gets easier as time goes on. You will find other platforms have very similar structures. I fins sometimes changing a small part of a lead ad can have great results.
